I do not deal with dreams. I deal with dreaming processes.

Dear Reader

We hope you’ve had an excellent start to the Gregorian Calendar New Year (not everyone's New Year :) - whatever that looks like for you :)

As you may have discovered if you tried to email us over the past few weeks, we’ve had a little rest and renewal time but are now back keen for another year of Process Work learning, teaching, exploring and experimenting together!!

To kick us off, Martin Hemsley and Penny Watson are offering a free Dreamwork Webinar - Exploring your dreams to enliven your life and practice - on Monday 22nd Jan at 7pm AEDT as they warm-up to their Dreamwork Dreamplay program starting in February.

Process Work actually began when Arnold Mindell noticed the same patterns in nighttime dreams and body symptoms, revealing the concept (known to many cultures but marginalised in Western culture) of an ongoing dreaming process level of reality. Arny Mindell says:

We speak of dreams, body experiences and symptoms. But to really fathom these we need to get into the stream from which they come, into the dreaming process that creates them. I do not deal with dreams. I deal with the dreaming processes.

In the webinar, get a taste of Process Work Dreamwork including a brief introduction to the approach, followed by a live demonstration working with someone's dream in the group, plus time for questions.

Check your time zone and register for the webinar here - it's perfect for:

  • people intrigued by dreams and looking for more tools to explore them
  • anyone a bit sceptical and a bit curious about dreams, keen to 'look outside the box' and see if there might be more to them
  • therapists, counsellors, psychologists, etc who aren’t yet confident in working with clients’ dreams but would like to learn
  • people who just love all things Process Work and want to come to everything :)

Martin and Penny also run an ongoing dream group for graduates of the course and in 2024, will be starting a second group focussing on dreamwork skill development for those working with other people’s dreams. So if you're also looking for an ongoing learning community, this webinar is a great way to get a sense of the vibe!

And if you know anyone keen on dreams (and want to be that awesome friend/colleague who introduced them to Process Work) forward them this email so they can check it out too.

You can also read more about Process Work dreamwork approach in the books Shaman's Body, The Dreammaker's Apprentice, Dreaming While Awake, and Working with the Dreambody - all by Arnold Mindell.

Hope to see you at the webinar!

warmly

Dear Reader, This month's newsletter focuses on 'the calling': how we support ourselves to listen to, focus on, and unfold the signals arising within and around us. But let’s start with a word on why this can be hard. Most of us have stayed with a familiar path at some point, even while quieter signals were suggesting another. In many ways it's deeply human. The known track feels safe, and our communities and larger systems often settle into well-worn tracks too. Sometimes those tracks...

Dear Reader, Spring is nature's own celebration of diversity, a riot of new colours, shapes and forms all emerging together, each different, each essential to the whole. And so too with our upcoming programs that we are delivering in spring and summer! This newsletter is focused on skills to support diversity because diversity lies at the heart of Process Work. It begins with the concept of Deep Democracy, the listening and valuing of all parts, knowing that different energies all have their...

Dear Reader, This month’s newsletter is inspired by poetry. The poet’stask is simple. He looks for quiet, and speaks to whathe finds there.David Whyte, Excerpt from The Poet So we invite you to become a poet for a moment. What do you hear in the quiet? In your body? In the world? In your relationships? In your dreams? What do you find there? Make a few notes. We begin by slowing down, seeking quiet so we can hear more clearly. We can consider other types of listening too – listening to tiny...
