Dear Reader We don't often email about our internal organisational matters but this is just a bit too exciting not to share! We've had a change in leadership! Liz Scarfe has served as the Executive Director of ANZPOP for six years and has done an amazing job. She has made so many big and small improvements in the organisation we can't hope to list them all, but broadly, Liz brought many administrative and governance improvements, as well as some incredible new Diplomates into the team, and established a progressive distributed leadership model within the team culture. Being the excellent Process Worker we know her to be, Liz noticed the signals of her own dreaming process heading in a different direction over a year ago and has been working with the leadership team over that time to enable a smooth transition. Last Friday night was the final step in that process, a fabulous faculty and student celebration of Liz's service in a hilarious and deeply touching wool-themed online gathering (for those not in the know, Liz loves wool and knitting): Another part of the change process involved noticing in whom the leadership signals were now emerging. We understand leadership as a fluid role and wondered, if the ED dreaming is no longer in Liz, has it moved to someone else, or is another organisational structure, one without an ED, emerging? Turns out it was in someone else. The organisational structure is still a good fit with our dreaming, and we are now thrilled to welcome Grzegorz Zielinski to the role of ANZPOPs Executive Director!! Grzegorz is incredibly devoted to the Process Work paradigm, rigorous teaching practice, and the value of learning communities - making him the perfect person to lead the team. Prior to taking on the ED role, Grzegorz was already leading the Faculty Team and the Two Year Process Work Study Program and has extensive experience applying the Process Work model as a psychotherapist and clinical supervisor, and as a trainer in both public and Diplomate training programs. Many people aren't aware that ANZPOP is a volunteer-run charity and operates as a democratic enterprise (you can read more about ANZPOP's history and structure here). This basically means that the organisation is run by the faculty (everyone pitches in), helping us stay in close contact with the dreaming process that guides our work and allowing us to maintain the integrity of how we teach Process Work. The voluntary nature of the work makes the contribution of those in leadership somehow even more profound and as a faculty, we wanted to share with you our deep gratitude to Liz for her incredible work, and to Grzegorz for taking up the mantle for the next phase of ANZPOP's journey. warmly ANZPOP P.S. Liz isn't leaving the faculty, just the ED role. She will still be teaching and pitching in in other ways :) |
Thought-provoking ideas, and transformative tools and training for working with individuals, groups, organisations, and communities.
Dear Reader, This month's newsletter focuses on 'the calling': how we support ourselves to listen to, focus on, and unfold the signals arising within and around us. But let’s start with a word on why this can be hard. Most of us have stayed with a familiar path at some point, even while quieter signals were suggesting another. In many ways it's deeply human. The known track feels safe, and our communities and larger systems often settle into well-worn tracks too. Sometimes those tracks...
Dear Reader, Spring is nature's own celebration of diversity, a riot of new colours, shapes and forms all emerging together, each different, each essential to the whole. And so too with our upcoming programs that we are delivering in spring and summer! This newsletter is focused on skills to support diversity because diversity lies at the heart of Process Work. It begins with the concept of Deep Democracy, the listening and valuing of all parts, knowing that different energies all have their...
Dear Reader, This month’s newsletter is inspired by poetry. The poet’stask is simple. He looks for quiet, and speaks to whathe finds there.David Whyte, Excerpt from The Poet So we invite you to become a poet for a moment. What do you hear in the quiet? In your body? In the world? In your relationships? In your dreams? What do you find there? Make a few notes. We begin by slowing down, seeking quiet so we can hear more clearly. We can consider other types of listening too – listening to tiny...
