The potential of parallel worlds...

Dear Reader,

What does it take to step into a parallel world?
In order to explore new worlds, we need a sacred attitude that values, respects and embraces worlds that live outside our identities. Such a sacred attitude might help us take time to discover what it is like to live from a totally different viewpoint. In doing so we could discover freshness and inspiration that are released as we switch from a familiar world to a new one”

So writes Amy Mindell in The Dreaming Source of Creativity. p157

This time of year can be one that is challenging for many, whether it be because of the push and stretch of finalising study, looming work deadlines or school events before year end, impending inevitable family gatherings, extended time with children endlessly seeking occupation. And equally all of these things can be richly satisfying and joyful.

If you are living that joy right now - power to you! Lap that up and embrace the moment.

If you are feeling more identified with the challenge, we hear you.

Here’s an invitation, if it feels good, to consider this end of year transition opportunity regardless of your circumstance - and take up Amy Mindell’s call. Why not step into a parallel world for a moment to see what inspiration might come for you?

A 5 min creative play challenge

Think of someone who comes to mind who is utterly unlike you. Pick something fairly light - almost ridiculous. The key is to pick up the energy without judgement.

Try one or all of these -

  • Walk around the room as them - what does it feel like in your muscles, what do you see through their eyes that you may not normally look at?
  • When you get dressed in the morning, for a flashing moment imagine you are them. Sneakily put on one small accessory or carry something with you that they might have. Eg. If I am The Rock (aka - Dwayne Johnson) I might pick a singlet and wear it underneath my top. And yes, that is who first came to mind and I’m standing by it. Right now I AM DWAYNE JOHNSON. I am so rocking this newsletter!
  • Drink your tea/coffee or eat your lunch as if you were them. No-one needs to know ;)

After each of these moments, take a minute to reflect - what was fun/ interesting/ different about that? How might I bring a touch of that energy to my regular world or challenge?

Dear Reader, This month's newsletter focuses on 'the calling': how we support ourselves to listen to, focus on, and unfold the signals arising within and around us. But let’s start with a word on why this can be hard. Most of us have stayed with a familiar path at some point, even while quieter signals were suggesting another. In many ways it's deeply human. The known track feels safe, and our communities and larger systems often settle into well-worn tracks too. Sometimes those tracks...

Dear Reader, Spring is nature's own celebration of diversity, a riot of new colours, shapes and forms all emerging together, each different, each essential to the whole. And so too with our upcoming programs that we are delivering in spring and summer! This newsletter is focused on skills to support diversity because diversity lies at the heart of Process Work. It begins with the concept of Deep Democracy, the listening and valuing of all parts, knowing that different energies all have their...

Dear Reader, This month’s newsletter is inspired by poetry. The poet’stask is simple. He looks for quiet, and speaks to whathe finds there.David Whyte, Excerpt from The Poet So we invite you to become a poet for a moment. What do you hear in the quiet? In your body? In the world? In your relationships? In your dreams? What do you find there? Make a few notes. We begin by slowing down, seeking quiet so we can hear more clearly. We can consider other types of listening too – listening to tiny...
