Hi Reader, Last weekend Beck Ronkson and Grzegorz Zielinski taught the Creativity Module (Module 15) in the ANZPOP 2 year program. We had requested that they take a photo of themselves that we could use as part of a ‘behind-the-scenes’ series about our presenters in the lead up to the Diverse States of Getting Along Conference. In trying to comply with this request, they noticed a disturbance. And given that they were in the midst of teaching about disturbances in the form of creative blocks – they got curious and started exploring. A figure appeared in reaction to this behind the scenes photo idea – so super briefly, Beck stepped into the role and embodied it, whilst Grzegorz interviewed – his first question: If this role could speak what would it say? Refuser role: NO! I REFUSE! ENOUGH. It was powerful, there was no getting past it. Process work values disturbances and so they trusted in this momentary figure – what might be 'behind the scenes' of this strong feeling? Grzegorz: Why refuse? What is so important about refusing? It struck them. Beck and Grzegorz reflected on their own relationship as co-teachers, becoming friends by teaching together and their shared experience of being lifelong learners of Process work. They were surprisingly moved by this revelation. Process work often talks about different levels of reality – consensus reality (our agreed daily reality – relatively objective experience), dreamland level (below the surface subjective experience, world of parts, roles and polarities) and essence (oneness). We move between them constantly and all are equally important. Process work is often about unpacking, unfolding what is underneath, dropping deeper to bring that knowledge back up to awareness to work with it. At ANZPOP we had been communicating about the conference on the surface level – what was happening, who was speaking, the important content. But we haven’t been communicating about what it offers at other levels. Diverse States of Getting Along, at its heart, is about relationships and community. It’s about all of us. It’s about people coming together with a curiosity and interest in following the ‘process’ and connecting at depth. That’s it. So for those of you who have never been to a Process work event – we want to welcome you, you are part of it. And for those of you who are connected in some way to Process work – we want to welcome you, you are a part of it. And for those of you who have been part of the Process work community for a really long time – we want to welcome you, you are a part of it. We all are. It’s our work together. Relationships. Community. So instead of the original request of a ‘behind-the-scenes’ photo, Beck and Grzegorz went behind-the-scenes into their own process as it was happening. Here are the photos they ended up sending. Two are photos of the workshop, and the last is a photo of them in the break, as they taught together that weekend, appreciating and being grateful for their co-teaching relationship and their relationship with Process Work. If you wish to join us as we explore together – click on the link here to register for Diverse States of Getting Along. And today is the last chance to enrol in the Facilitation Masterclass Series (Beck also co-facilitates that program) so if that's your jam, hop to it! warmly ANZPOP |
Thought-provoking ideas, and transformative tools and training for working with individuals, groups, organisations, and communities.
Dear Reader, This month's newsletter focuses on 'the calling': how we support ourselves to listen to, focus on, and unfold the signals arising within and around us. But let’s start with a word on why this can be hard. Most of us have stayed with a familiar path at some point, even while quieter signals were suggesting another. In many ways it's deeply human. The known track feels safe, and our communities and larger systems often settle into well-worn tracks too. Sometimes those tracks...
Dear Reader, Spring is nature's own celebration of diversity, a riot of new colours, shapes and forms all emerging together, each different, each essential to the whole. And so too with our upcoming programs that we are delivering in spring and summer! This newsletter is focused on skills to support diversity because diversity lies at the heart of Process Work. It begins with the concept of Deep Democracy, the listening and valuing of all parts, knowing that different energies all have their...
Dear Reader, This month’s newsletter is inspired by poetry. The poet’stask is simple. He looks for quiet, and speaks to whathe finds there.David Whyte, Excerpt from The Poet So we invite you to become a poet for a moment. What do you hear in the quiet? In your body? In the world? In your relationships? In your dreams? What do you find there? Make a few notes. We begin by slowing down, seeking quiet so we can hear more clearly. We can consider other types of listening too – listening to tiny...
