3 different pathways to transformation – and a new free webinar

Dear Reader,

Sometimes we deny ourselves transformation. It’s such a big, loaded word, it can be easy to think that it is simply beyond us or our groups – somehow only reserved for others, or that it requires a huge investment of time, money or resources that we simply don’t have. Because of the enormity of the impact of transformation, we think that the input looks the same.

And sure, like anything, sometimes that can be true. But usually it’s not.

Process work teaches that transformation simply comes from what is less known, what is already emerging. It notes that the signals of this emergence are with and around us all the time – and that means we don’t need to DO anything, we just need to pay attention and unfold. In this moment, transformation is around everywhere. Nature continually demonstrates it.

Hang on, let’s stop to appreciate that again - isn’t it incredible?

In this moment, transformation is around everywhere. Nature continually demonstrates it.

Are you up for a bit of transformation? We thought we’d share 3 different approaches you can use to access it more for your life, clients and groups.

1. Practice radical listening.
What does it mean to slow down a bit to listen to what is underneath the surface? For many of us, our lives are so full of ‘noise’ it can be hard to hear anything beyond what’s stated. Radical listening involves listening at a deep level, catching incongruency, listening to the atmosphere, feelings, our bodies, to smaller signals. It involves slowing down, trusting that it is worth listening to, and shifting our attention. Our upcoming Community Conference is focused on what it means to radically listen in a very loud world.

2. Pay attention to mistakes.
In our next Continuing Learners Practice Lab we are focusing on Common pitfalls as doorways to transformation. Most creatives understand how it’s often the mistakes that create the genuinely original work. So too when working with clients or groups – mistakes are bearers of valuable information about what is ‘less permissable’ and often emergent. Whether it’s your own reaction to a mistake or the client/ group you are working with, understanding how to harness the meaning in mistakes is both incredibly relieving for the practitioner and gives you a whole new approach to having impact.

3. Hone your awareness of and on, the Edge (in yourself and groups).
The edge refers to that mysterious boundary between the known and the unknown, between what I can do, and what I can’t, between what is ‘our way of doing things’ and ‘those other ways’. It is a space that exists as a kind of boundary. If there is one area to zoom into for transformation – the Edge is it. Once we can recognise edges, we can understand and pinpoint our direction of growth, and also be gentler in appreciating why we aren’t getting somewhere. In our upcoming Facilitation Masterclass Series we have a module dedicated to working at the learning edge in groups, and because it is such a crucial factor in both working on yourself, working with clients and working with groups – we are pleased to announce ANZPOP is hosting a free webinar on it in the lead up to the 2 year Process Work Study program beginning in Byron Bay.

Free webinar: The Edge – Process Work’s gateway to transformation.

What holds us back from being who we truly are?

In Process Work, the Edge is the place where something new is trying to emerge – just beyond what feels familiar or comfortable. It’s where we may hesitate, resist, or feel uncertain… and also where meaningful change begins.

In this free 1.5 hour webinar, you’ll be introduced to the concept of the Edge and how it shows up in everyday life, relationships, and inner experience. Featuring Live demonstrations and Q & A. Book your webinar space now

Each of these pathways – deep listening, the wisdom in mistakes, and the invitation of the Edge – points to the same truth: that transformation is rarely somewhere else. It is already present in the moments we might otherwise rush past or turn away from. Whether you are drawn to one of these threads or all three, there are spaces opening up this year where you can explore them more fully, alongside others who are asking the same questions.

And lastly if you are looking for a practice that will truly hold you in and through transformation, you really can't go past the 2 year Process Work Study program, with the next upcoming cohort beginning in Byron Bay in late July. Here’s how some of the recent 2 year program graduates described the course:

The program is well-paced and jam-packed with opportunities to practice: you learn the basics and progressively build skills to work with increasingly complex topics, discovering that every problem contains a clue to its solution.

This rigorous two-year program gave me a comprehensive grounding in Process Work that immediately translated into my facilitation and consulting practice - I'm now successfully facilitating far more complex group situations with a noticeable increase in my capacity for conflict.

I feel more content with my life because I’m clearer about who I am and what I’m doing here.

Be prepared for life changes!

Transformation doesn't always announce itself loudly. Often it begins as a small signal, a moment of hesitation, a mistake that lingers, a feeling at the edge of what we know. We hope to see you in one of these spaces as you follow those threads.

Warmly,

ANZPOP

Dear Reader, This month’s newsletter is inspired by poetry. The poet’stask is simple. He looks for quiet, and speaks to whathe finds there.David Whyte, Excerpt from The Poet So we invite you to become a poet for a moment. What do you hear in the quiet? In your body? In the world? In your relationships? In your dreams? What do you find there? Make a few notes. We begin by slowing down, seeking quiet so we can hear more clearly. We can consider other types of listening too – listening to tiny...

Dear Reader, There is so much noise everywhere it’s easy to become overwhelmed. Bam. Bam. Bam. Our bodies feel the pressure and pull of competing agendas and meanwhile our time can easily be usurped by devices designed to keep us there. Never before have we had so much access to what’s going on in other places, knowledge and answers, and also so much fluff! In this cacophony, some of us want to curl up under a doona and find quiet, some want to rage against injustice, some want to understand...

Dear Reader, A few honest questions today. Are you on the edge of signing up for something that could change your practice and your life? Are you a lifelong learner who wants to go deep, not just wide? Do you hold a professional qualification and want to supercharge it, with tools and self-knowledge that most training doesn't offer? Are you ready to make a significant shift in how you understand yourself and the people you work with? If any of those landed, the Two-Year Process Work Study...
